Melbourne is one of the few cities in the world that operates trams, and this is one of the things I love about the city. I’m not sure why I love trams so much. Personally, I think a tram ride is a more relaxing and eco-friendly way to travel. (A side note though, in my opinion, Swiss trams are still much better than the ones here in Melbourne.

Obviously it is good to hop off at different stops and explore the lanes and side streets that truly make Melbourne's CBD a wonderland. Melbourne's public-transport system is divided into two zones, in addition to the free tram zone in the central business district and some surrounding areas. Myki has two forms of tickets: myki money (in which money is loaded on a myki and the system selects the "best fare") and the myki-pass, where commuters pre-purchase tickets (or passes). All trams are free (not only City Circle Tram) in Melbourne's Free Tram Zone which operates in Melbourne's CBD bordered by Spring Street, Flinders Street and La Trobe Street. Additionally, tram routes along Victoria Street, William Street and Elizabeth Street that surround Victoria Market are also included as well as the Docklands area.
